The single-row, self-adjusting PV spikes are specially designed for use on solar and photovoltaic modules. They effectively prevent pigeons and other birds from crawling, nesting, and breeding between the roof and solar modules by providing a robust, mechanical barrier.

The spikes have a bar thickness of 2.0 mm , a falling tip length of 110 mm (including bar 128 mm) or 170 mm (including bar 188 mm) and a regular tip spacing of 25 mm , with a length of 500 mm per element and high-quality workmanship from 1.4301 stainless steel.

This version is powder-coated in RAL 9005 in the color "deep black matt" and is particularly suitable for PV systems with black frames.

Alternatively, the elements can be bonded the traditional way (though this can be quite time-consuming) using a special adhesive. However, this should preferably be done in the early morning hours on clean, grease-free modules for the best adhesion. The adhesive should be fully applied to the strip body to ensure a secure connection.

• Rod length falls to 170 mm

Assembly instructions / tips

• For quick and worry-free installation, we recommend using the separately available clips
• Alternatively, gluing would also be possible, but please note the following points:
  • Pay attention to the temperature: Do not apply adhesive to warm or hot modules. If possible, start in the early morning hours—especially in summer, before the panels heat up.
    
  • Prepare surfaces: Thoroughly clean all surfaces before applying the adhesive. Use only alcohol-based cleaners or primers. The surface must be free of dust and grease. Do not use solvents!
  • Ensure liability:
    • Glue the entire surface – don’t skimp on the glue.
    • If necessary, roughen profiles with a metal brush or sandpaper.
    • A maximum of 12 m can be fully bonded with one cartridge.
    • The glue should come out from the sides and through the holes.
    • After bonding, an adhesive layer of approximately 2 mm thick must remain between the solar system and the spikes so that the materials can expand.
    • If dismantled later, the modules remain undamaged.
      
• Alternative mounting: For older systems outside the warranty period, the PV spikes can also be screwed in. Before doing so, be sure to check that there are no cables running behind the frame.
