Control paperfish properly—instead of treating the wrong problem
Paperfish are increasingly relevant material pests in indoor environments. They can damage paper, cardboard, books, wallpaper, and labels, and also occur in dry, normally heated homes, offices, hotels, archives, and storage areas.
That is precisely one of the greatest challenges: measures frequently recommended for silverfish do not automatically work against paperfish. If the species are confused, the wrong strategy may be used for months.
The online training course “Expertise: Paperfish” shows you how to reliably identify the species, systematically record an infestation, and develop a long-term effective pest control strategy. You will also learn how to use suitable products professionally and document the measures carried out in a traceable, audit-ready manner.
What you will learn
- Safely distinguish paperfish from silverfish, firebrats, and four-lined silverfish.
- Understand biology and behavior and derive the appropriate pest control strategy.
- Systematically record an infestation and monitor it using a monitoring point plan, monitoring point list, and trend analysis.
- Plan pest control in line with work steps B.2.1 to B.2.9 of the Technical Rules and Standards for Pest Control.
- Select suitable products and methods based on sound reasoning and clearly assign responsibilities.
- Correctly dose and professionally apply products from the Kaeferling Pro range.
- Use biocidal products safely and in compliance with the law, taking into account the user group, the Hazardous Substances Ordinance, and relevant standards.
- Prevent re-infestation through incoming goods inspections, quarantine, service contracts, and continuous monitoring.
- Take industry requirements such as HACCP, IFS, BRCGS, and AIB into account.
