The single-row, self-adjusting PV spikes are specially designed for use on solar and photovoltaic modules. They effectively prevent pigeons and other birds from crawling under, nesting, and breeding between the roof and solar modules by providing a robust mechanical barrier.

The spikes have a rod thickness of 2.0 mm, a self-adjusting spike length of 110 mm (including strip 128 mm) or 170 mm (including strip 188 mm), and a regular spike spacing of 25 mm, with a length of 500 mm per element and high-quality manufacturing from 1.4301 stainless steel.

This version is powder-coated in RAL 9005 in the color "deep matte black" and is especially suitable for PV systems with black frames.

Alternatively, the elements can also be bonded in the traditional way (with considerable time effort) using a special adhesive. However, this should preferably be done in the early morning hours on clean, grease-free modules for the best adhesion. The adhesive should cover the entire surface of the strip body to ensure a secure connection.

Installation instructions / tips:

• For quick and worry-free installation, we recommend using the separately available clips
• Alternatively, bonding is also possible; please observe the following points: 
  • Observe temperature: Do not bond on warm or hot modules. Start preferably in the early morning hours – especially in summer before the panels heat up.
  • Prepare surfaces: Thoroughly clean all surfaces before bonding. Use only alcohol-based cleaners or primers. The surface must be dust- and grease-free. Do not use solvents! 
  • Ensure adhesion:
    • Bond fully – do not skimp on the adhesive.
    • Roughen profiles if necessary with a metal brush or sandpaper.
    • A cartridge can bond up to 12 m fully.
    • The adhesive should ooze out sideways and through the holes.
    • After bonding, a roughly 2 mm thick adhesive layer must remain between the solar system and the spikes to allow the materials to expand.
    • The modules remain undamaged during later removal.
      
      
• Alternative fastening: For older systems outside the warranty period, the PV spikes can also be screwed on using V2A screws (self-drilling). Be sure to check beforehand that no cables run behind the frame.
